A Rich Colonial History and a Bright Future

The Township of Union is an ideal location to raise a family and operate a business.

Only 30 minutes from NYC and 10 minutes from Newark Liberty International Airport. Major interstate, state and county roads - I-78, the Garden State Parkway and Rtes. 22, 24 and 82, run right through or around Union.

With over 54,000 residents and 2,000 businesses - including major corporations such as Schering-Plough, Comcast, Verizon and Elizabethtown Gas Company - Union has a rich history and a bright future.

Union has a strong sense of community and spirit. Home to over 27 houses of worship, our diverse culture is displayed several times a year through ethnic and holiday parades, festivals and events.

We are also home to Kean University and 10 public schools: a high school, two middle schools and six elementary schools. There is half-day pre-kindergarten and full-day kindergarten.

Union boasts the Union Campus of Overlook Hospital Emergency Services, library and over 43 parks/playgrounds, 14 tennis parks, nine softball fields, two picnic groves and a street hockey facility.

The Union Train Station, part of the Raritan Valley Line that runs between Hunterdon County and NYC, and a local bus lines operated by NJ Transit help the residents of Union get around the area.
